Community Square Bulletin Board
At WoodWorks, W. Springfield's 2009 show, the members of both woodturning clubs, Central CT Woodturners (CCW) and Central New England Woodturners (CNEW) provided a spectacular array of some of the finest woodturnings you'll ever see. The tables were covered with one awe-inspiring piece after another. There were so many of the best, that it was difficult to select winners. Count on another spectucular display by CCW and CNEW members!

A sea of talent from the CCW and CNEW members.

Congratulations Project Goodwill, recipients of the First Annual Bill Thompson, Sr. Memorial Award for Community Participation. This group exemplifies the spirit of woodworking, with year-round fundraising for the Free Wheelchair Mission. At every WoodWorks Show, one club is honored for demonstrating the most community spirit. Bill passed last spring. His wife, Mickey, sons, Bill, Jr., James and Woodline partner Wayne, continue to offer quality tools at the shows.

Woodworking is about the people. At WoodWorks, we encourage charity fundraising and sowing seeds for future generations. An extraordinary example of community spirit is Project Good Will, led by CNEW member Charlie Croteau. All the volunteers who donate their beautiful turnings for auction benefiting the Free Wheelchair Mission, are heroes. Their actions inspire.

Make a dream of a wheelchair come true.

Asheville Hardware, sponsor of the SawDust Café Instant Gallery, invites all woodworkers to participate in this exciting local competition. As a provider of high quality tools and service, we know how much fun working with wood is, but we're here to tell you, nothing beats having YOUR work on display!
